Accommodation at Paloma
Paloma welcomes guests in several different types of accommodation.
The Red House
The romantic Red House offers luxury, nestled in an extraordinary garden of beauty and art, awarded “garden of national significance” by the New Zealand Gardens Trust.
The Red House is well appointed, with self-serve continental breakfast already in the Red House on your arrival, queen four-poster bed, ensuite bathroom, Tv, DVD player, fridge, microwave, toaster and electric jug (no stove, regular oven or bath). Plus many books, magazines and DVDs to enjoy, as well as the garden, bush, farm and animals.
The garden offers diversity: from the bamboo and palm forests, ponds, the hot and spectacular Jardin Exotique with cacti, aloes, agaves and other succulents, to the pétanque court and areas where the plantings invite you to relax and enjoy the spectacular landscaping.
Your hosts, Nicki and Clive Higgie, are farmers and vitally active in Whanganui life. They can help you enjoy vibrant Whanganui or leave you in peace to relax.
Just 20km to Whanganui, The Red House welcomes you with peaceful serenity, to a home away from home. We welcome bookings for a minimum two-night stay for $290 (with subsequent consecutive nights at $130 each). This includes the self-serve continental breakfast and full access to the gardens and Moto 71.

Simone's Summer House, as yet unlined, offers a double mattress and single mattress on the mezzanine floor plus a double sofa bed on the ground floor, for $60/night. Guy's Boat House is compact, better finished, with a double bed, for $60/night. Minimum stay is two nights for each cabin. Ideal for romantic get-aways or hire both cabins for family fun.
